Our story

What began as a simple “It’s a girl!” sign announcing our daughter’s birth in 2009 grew into a thriving business that’s been bringing color and joy to our community for over a decade.

After graduating from Villanova University with an accounting degree, Jenny’s path was anything but linear—working in finance, commercial real estate, internet consulting, and merchandising while she searched for her true calling. Inspired by her daughter, she was halfway through a graduate program in Special Education when she took a leap of faith to build Citrus Daisy full-time. With a nearly equal balance of right- and left-brain thinking, Jenny brings an analytical eye to her art and a deep love for playing with color.

Citrus Daisy has also become a place where other local moms and high school and college students contribute to the creativity and joy that define the shop. They lend their hands to creating, assisting customers, and helping out around the barn.

Jenny is married to Kevin, affectionately known as “Mr. Daisy” (and a talented fine artist himself!). Together, they’re raising their son, Petey, and their daughter, Annie, who happens to be blind and is the inspiration behind it all.

The name Citrus Daisy came from two things that bring Jenny joy: citrus colors and daisies. The name represents the goal for her company: spreading happiness through the simplicity of a word and making people smile. Her signs evoke emotion and uplift and make us happy.

Over the years, customers have become friends and a part of our Citrus Daisy family. There is just something about the historic walls of our old barn that provides the space to share about our lives and create a community. Oh, and shop too! We often invite other artists and makers into the barn to sell their creations.
